Welcome to the 2017-18 School Year!

Dr. Stephen C. Bigelow

Dear BCPS Community,

This summer my family and I moved from the Detroit area to become part of the Bay City community, and we could not be happier. As I watch my son and daughter eagerly await the first day at their new BCPS schools, I cannot help but get excited thinking about where we are headed. Our district – that includes you - will develop a 5 year strategic plan in late-November or early-December. Our Board, administrators, teachers, and support staff are hungry for change. Together we will boldly chart our path to uncompromised excellence.

As we open the new school year, I think about how important it is we build a supportive, nurturing environment. You play a vital role in your child’s education, from reading at home to attending school events. Please take time to reach out to our wonderful staff, introduce yourself, and ask how we can better partner together. You are fortunate to have the support and services of Bay City Public Schools, and we are fortunate to have you.

Please accept my sincere thanks for your support. Now let’s get busy reaching new heights!

Sincerely,

Dr. Stephen C. Bigelow
Superintendent
